Starting off where Gabe and Grace are on the bridge of Neushwanstein (sp) they share a long romantic wet kiss, with Grace being the instigator. Grace then asks Gabriel to make love to her because she hasn't had in like donkey years.

He agrees to do this (duh) they make a picnic lunch then goes somewhere secluded in the woods and they eat and drink wine, Gabriel brings a boombox with romantic music and they dance then they start making love. It is the best Grace has ever had, and Gabriel falls in love with Grace after this. Not that making love makes people fall in love, but (it can happen).

Anyways Grace goes back to New Orleans to finish selling out the stock in the bookstore so that Gabriel can make a decision. In the meantime two months have passed, and Grace finds out she is pregnant. She is scared and doesn't know how Gabriel feels about her because he never calls, or tells her anything. Meanwhile Gabriel cannot keep his mind on writing his new book at the castle because he keeps thinking about Grace and the day they spent on their backs. He decides he wants to ask Grace to move in with him at Schloss Ritter to be nearer to him. He hops on a plane New Orlean bound.

Meanwhile Grace is scared out of her mind and decides that running is the best thing to do, but feels that she needs to talk to somebody about her predicament so she tells Bruno that she is pregnant and needs to get away for awhile to clear her head and figure out what to do. She flys in a plane to Transylvania because she heard it is pretty this time of year. And low and behold she gets lost there and is picked up by a really cute guy with a black cape who says she can stay at his castle until she figures out what to do. She is put in to a trance by his eyes and agrees.

Meanwhile Gabriel gets to the bookstore and finds it closed, and is wondering where Grace could be, it is only 2:00 in the afternoon the bookstore shouldn't even be close for another 3 hours. Then Bruno walks in all proud that he has a secret, Gabriel asks him if he knows where Grace is. He beams at him and says Gabriel my man she is pregnant and has run away to some place called transylphiladelphia or something like that. Gabriel goes nuts, he is so hurt that Gracie did not trust him enough to share the news of their coming arrival. He then realizes that he never told Grace how he felt and being the butthead that he can be sometimes she probably thought that he would just dump her and the baby. He is all ready in love with the fact of being a father. He must find Gracie now.

He flies to Transylvania because it is the only thing on the map that matches the description of Transylphiladelphia (Bruno is stupid). Plus he called the airport and they had Graces name on the list for passengers. He goes to Transylvania and realizes that he has know where to even start to look for his true love. So he sits at the airport and thinks back of all the times Grace has been there for him and saved his little butt. He realizes after a few thoughts that Grace has been in love with him all along.

Meanwhile at the castle in Germany, Gerde gets a call from some people in Transylvania who need the Schattenjager because there have been people getting their throats bitten lately. Gerde hops on a plane and flies to Transylvania to find Herr Knight to let him know that he is needed. If they only knew that Graces life is in danger because she is staying with the one person Gabriel needs to hunt down and kill.

On the plane to Transylvania, Gabe finds himself mindlessly humming, "Havin' My Baby," that insipid Paul Anka tune. He tries desparately to stop and finally has to request headphones from the flight attendant. He's getting a migraine from the combined weight around his neck of not just the Ritter family talisman, but a crucifix as well. He's not sure whether vampires really exist but he figures if werewolves do, then who knows! And Transylvania has always been considered the vampire capital of the world so, better safe than sorry....

...And then Gabriel wanders around the Transylvania villages saying "Cuckoo clocks" and "Tools" over and over-wait, I mean he meets a Transylvanian Gypsy who says he is hunting the undead, and saw Gabriel coming to aid him in a dream...

"My name is Radu," he tells Gabe. Between the Revolution of December 1989 and the end of communist rule, the economy in Romania is in poor shape. Radu has been trying to save enough money to start a business, but since his sister fell ill and then disappeared he has been unable to think of anything but trying to find her. "I fear we must hurry." Radu says to Gabriel, "Mortii calatoresc repede! The dead travel fast..." The phrase rings in Gabe's ears and a shiver runs down his spine.

Gabe turns to Radu and says, somewhat desparately, "Know anywhere I can get some coffee??"

Then Radu says, "No."

"Good thing I brought my thermos!" Gabe says, fishing an enormous metal thermos out of his inner coat pocket and pouring himself a cup of precious caffeine.

Gabriel drank his coffee to ward off the chills he was feeling after talking to Igor on the street when he asked if he had seen a dark haired Japanese woman there. He couldn't help the psychic feelings he was getting from that weird guy.

Gabriel touches his talisman to give him strength to go on with the task at hand. He had to find Grace and fast, he was feeling that she might be in trouble. It is just not like Grace to go off with some stranger to his house, I mean she is from New York for petes sake, she knows she can't trust everybody. Hell, she doesn't seem to trust anybody at all so why the sudden change, and what was it Igor said, something about the guys eyes seem to put Grace into a trance.

This is something to look into, I better get over to that castle and see what I can see, (and feel). Just when Gabriel was paying for the coffee and about to hit on the waitress Gerde walks in, "Herr Knight, I am glad I finally found you."

Gabriel looks shocked, "Gerde what the hell are you doing here in Transylvania of all places, whats going on, Oh no! did Gracie call, is something wrong." Gerde looks at him in confusion and says "No I am sorry Heir Knight I have not heard from Grace, I thought you were here to find her."

Gabriel looks away in embarrassment knowing he was stalling for time because he had no idea what he would say to Grace when he did find her or if he found her. (Why did I just think if I found her, why would I say that?)

Gerde says "Herr Knight, I am here because their are some people here who need you on a case, a Shattenjager case." Gabriel shakes his head in despair, this couldn't have happened at the worst time. He had to find Gracie to tell her how he felt about her and the baby. Also, now that he is on a new case he is going to need Gracies help to research what he needs, she is the only one who knows what he needs. Plus Gracie will really be off again if I don't enlist her help even though I just want her to be safe. But I have this bad feeling that Grace is not safe at all, I have to take care of her and the baby first.

Gabe turns to Gerde and says "What is the case about Gerde do you know." She says "not really Herr Knight only some things about people getting their necks bit, the people who have enlisted your help want to meet with you and tell you face to face what is going on, and they want to show you pictures of the victims also." Gabe looks wearily at Gerde and says "I can't meet with them tonight Gerde I have to find Grace, I think she is in danger and her and the baby have to come first." Gerde looks shocked, "Baby what are you talking about Heir Knight what baby."

Gabe had not had a chance to fill Gerde in on the news bins how he just found out himself and was still in shock from it himself. He says, "Gerde, uh Grace and I had intercourse and now she is pregnant with my baby." He used the word intercourse because he knows how old fashioned Gerde is, she probably wouldn't take kindly to the words being used today in the 90's. Gerde just looks at Gabriel like she knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Then she voices what her facial expression gave away already.

"Well Herr Knight, I already knew Grace was in love with you because she yelled at me when she first got to Germany on your werewolf case, she accused me of sleeping with you. Gabes face turned bright red just thinking about sleeping with Gerde gave him the willies knowing she had been with his uncle, it was almost like incest if you thought long and hard about it, and Gabe had thought long and hard many of times about sleeping with Gerde because well she is female and very pretty, but he didn't know she was sleeping with Wolfgang and was in love with him when he moved to Rittersburg last year. When she did tell him he was so disgusted with himself that he knew he had better change his ways after all. Gerde says "I will tell the people that you will see them tomorrow afternoon then, and I will find out the meeting place also, where are you staying so that I can contact you with the information."

Gabe forgot to get a hotel room when he got here because he was only thinking of Gracie at the time. He turns to Gerde and says "I will be in touch with you, go ahead and get a room at the Hilton and I will find out the room from the desk clerk because I haven't figured out where I am staying if anywhere until Gracie is found." Gerde says "alright, I will see you tomorrow then, goodbye and good luck, when you find Grace tell her congratulations on the baby and landing you like she has wanted all along."

Gabe smiles at her and says "Why am I always the last to know about these sort of things, and here I am supposed to be psychic and all." Gerde just sighs and says "Ja your uncle was the same way I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree after all."

They both smile at each other and turn away. Gabe whistles as he calls for a cab to take him to the mysterious castle to find Grace. Another chill hits him in the small of his back as they are on their way. He has a real bad feeling about this, he better be ready for anything as he holds his talisman in his right hand.
