Part 3
The Gedde estate
Helena sat in the small room again. Her mother was sitting in front of her. Weird symbols were drawn on the walls.
"According to Tetelo, you're learning quick." her mother said.
Helena smiled. Her mother tilted her head again, Helena was no longer afraid, she knew what was going to happen. Her mother was gone and Tetelo was here.
"Hello, my pretty." she said.
"Greetings Tetelo." Tetelo rose from her chair.
"You want to be an excellent apprentice, don't you?"
"Of course!"
Tetelo slowly walked around the chair of Helena. "Then why is your friend still in your life, you know the rules, the most important part of the study is coming up." Tetelo held Helena's head with both hands. "Soon you will know why your mother is gone once every week." Tetelo looked into her eyes and she looked back, eager to know more.
A few days later- The Gedde Estate
Edward the butler stood downstairs waiting for lady Gedde and young lady Gedde. Helena walked down the stairs. Edward looked at her. She was beautiful like her mother, a brownish tan and big dark eyes, she was practically an adult, tonight she was going to be one. Slowly lady Gedde followed her daughter.
"Edward, do you know where we are going to tonight?" her daughter asked.
"Yes, my lady."
Her mother was halfway the stairs. "You can call him brother fox now." she said.
Edward smiled. Helena smiled too. When her mother reached the front door they opened it and walked out of the house, Edward closed the door and started the car. The lights of the car went on and the car drove away, away to the swamp.
the Johnson estate
Mack saw from his bedroom window that the car was driving away. He didn't know a thing about the study that Helena was taking, but it was changing her. Ruining her. It changed her from the woman he loved, he thought about his thoughts, yes...loved into a cantankerous girl next door. He had to do something, but he didn't have a clue what to do. He turned around and punched his pillow and fell on his bed. The moon was shining trough his window, it shone for thousands of years and had seen everything. Mack sighed.
The man with the cape stood in the shadow of a tree near the road. He looked at the brightly lid window of Mack's room. He turned his head to the disappearing car. The next moment he wasn't there anymore.
The Swamp
Brother Fox stood near a tall tree, he searched his pocket, he found it.
"Helena come here, I have something."
She approached. He held a small amount of powder in his hand.
"Close your eyes." He said.
She closed them. He blew and the powder flew against her head. She suddenly felt a short cold flash, but then all went lovely warm. She opened her eyes and the dark swamp seemed comforting. Familiar. Edward also blew the powder in her mother's face. The red dots made a small glow in the dark swamp. Tetelo was here and her mother wasn't.
"Aah, always good to be back to the swamp." Tetelo stood more straightup than her mother.
"Hello, my pretty." Tetelo walked towards her.
"This is an important moment in your life, are you exited?" Tetelo asked.
"Yes, but also a bit scared." she replied.
"That's good, nothing wrong with that. We're ready to go, brother Fox."
He nodded and put a foxlike-mask on. The three of them walked towards the swamp, a warm glow from a fire greeted them, just as the faint sounds of the drums and the chanting did.
