Part 6

In front of the Gedde estate

The old man walked to the boy who trembled and tried to get up. The man stood before him and held out his hand. The boy crawled backwards, he trembled.

"You get one hell of a friend there." the old man said. "A lot of spirit in her." he laughed.

The boy got up and jumped at the man, angry at him, angry at her. The man moved quick and suddenly the boy was laying in the grass again and the old man held his arm against his back.

"No, no...you're doing this the wrong way, you don't understand. First you have to trust me." the man said.

"Do I have a choice?" The boy mumbled.

"Ha, I guess not, secondly we have to get away from this place, she's still in there you know."

He helped the boy up. He stopped trembling and walked away from the estate, together with the old man.

"People call me Firebrow." he pointed at his red eyebrows.

"People call me Mack." He pointed at himself.

"Because that's my name." He smiled.

The old man laughed again. "Yes, good one."

He turned his head and looked at the house. It looked like his eyes turned light-blue. He turned his head to Mack again.

"She's one hell of a girl." he said laughing.

"That wasn't her." Mack said.

"I know it wasn't" replied Firebrow.

Asylum "the helping hand", St-Francis in the woods

Fred Gacey stared out of the barred window. He looked at the trees of the forest around the asylum. Fred was said to be ill. Mentally that is, but he could fool people if he said 'fysical'. He looked terrible, ill, pale and his grey, thin hair was long and a couple of locks fell in front of his left eye. Fred tilted his head a little, like he could see it better that way. The moon looked at Fred and Fred stared back. He smiled.

"They will pay." he whispered.

"They will all pay, they will burn in hell." he whispered.

He leaned with his head against one of the bars. He saw a white figure in the woods. Fred saw that it was a skeleton. It had a flaming torch. It walked through the trees to the asylum. Fred grinned. The skeleton waved with the torch. It stopped a few metres in front of the window.

"Hello there!" Fred said exited.

"BURN!" said the skeleton.

"Burn!" repeated Fred.

"BURN!" said the skeleton again.

"Burn!" the skeleton nodded and placed the torch under his chest. Flames covered the skeleton. The flames turned green. Fred's face had a green glow. The skeleton disappeared in the flames.

"BURN!" it said for the last time. Fred nodded. The flames disappeared too. Everything was like it used to be. Fred laughed and stepped away from the window. He looked at his straightjacket. He stopped laughing, he heared someone coming.

Phil Rooney walked through the long hall. He heared the soft whines of the lunatics. He walked towards the cell of Fred Gacey. It was important that he watched this guy. He was told so. He looked through the small window in the door. Fred looked at him. Fred saw that Phil was looking at him. He walked to the door.

"We both know that this isn't the way that you treat your leader." said Fred slowly.

Phil looked in Fred's eyes. "I have a new leader now." Phil replied and walked away.

"I'm your leader...I'M YOUR LEADER!" Fred shouted.

1.8 The streets of The French Quarter

"J'ai un grand nez." said Firebrow.

"What?"

"J'ai un grand nez." said Firebrow again.

"I heared what you said, but what does it mean. It's french isn't it?" Mack asked.

Firebrow smiled "Yes, it's french and it's the only bloody french I know."

Mack looked puzzled "The only french I know is "Le pomme delicieux", it's the local green-grocery. It means "the delicious apple. I asked the green-grocer."

Firebrow nodded "Good name for a grocery." Firebrow silently walked a few steps.

"Tell me!" said Mack anxious.

"Tell you what?" mumbled Firebrow, who was looking at the clouds.

"Tell me what Jey un grand nezz means!"

"J'ai un grand nez." corrected Firebrow.

"AAh, just tell me!" Firebrow smiled, he liked the young boy.

Mack looked at the old man, he liked him, but he was very weird. "J'ai un grand nez means I have a big nose." Firebrow said dramatically.

"But you don't have a big nose."

"No, I haven't."

Mack gave this subject up.

"But seriously, we have to talk. I know what's wrong with your girlfriend..."

"She's not my girlfriend."

"No? Pitty. Where was I? Oh yes, I can't tell you all now, so you just have to trust me. We will go to a place far away from here."

"I can't, I..."

"You must. It's for your...friend's sake and for your's."

Mack believed him. "But my parents will never let me go."

"I'll take care of that." Firebrow said.

"You're not going to kill them are you?"

Firebrow looked surprised and laughed. "No, hahaha, but I can't tell you what I will do, but I won't hurt your parents in any way. Now you have to go to your house and pack your bags, you'll go on a long trip."
