Chapter Three
As they neared the gate, Arin felt a choking sensation as a hand was clapped over her mouth.
"Guess who!" cried a familiar voice.
"Mmmph!" Arin mumbled. Gabriel turned around quickly.
"Arin, if you're gonna talk, stop..." he trailed off as he noticed the figure behind Arin. "Soriya, what are you doing here?"
The hand was released from her mouth.
"Soriya!" Arin exclaimed. She turned around and hugged her.
"Hey! Look, are you going to Indonesia?" asked Soriya.
Arin nodded. "Manos Del Sol is on the case, too?"
Soriya nodded. "From what I heard, it's people like us from around the world."
"Oh, by the way, this is Leila des Perdu," said Gabriel, motioning towards her.
Leila nodded. "Nice to meet you."
"All passengers in first class or have small children, please board now."
Arin glanced at her ticket. "That's us."
Gabriel looked confused. "We don't have first class, small child."
Arin smirked. "Look at your ticket."
"WHAT?"
Grace laughed. "On your account, too!"
Gabriel grumbled as the five boarded.
Two hours later, the plane landed. Gabriel was now pissed because the female flight attendants refused to flirt with him. All five went about the business of getting their stuff as Soriya relayed the information she had found out.
"I talked to Manuel last night, and he didn't know much. There has been a lot of evidence pointing toward a tribe or a group of people pretending to be one. That's what I know about the killers."
"What about the victims?" asked Leila as she hoisted an expensive leather bag over her shoulder.
"All were brutally murdered. Looks sort of a cross between a ritual and serial killing."
"I meant background," Leila said coolly.
"What do I look like, an encyclopedia? As usual, the police are being all chauvinistic, which means they say 'it is the orders of the chief that we give no information out.' "
"I wonder if they're related to Gabriel!" said Grace sarcastically.
"Har har," muttered Gabriel, not in a good mood.
"Well excuse me!"
"Hey Gabe.."
"Yeah, Arin?"
"What did you do about accommodations?"
"Oops."
The four females made eye contact and shook their heads. "Men!"
Soriya picked at her carry-on and produced a cell phone. "I can call Manuel and ask for him to get a few more rooms at the bed-and-breakfast we're staying at."
Leila nodded. "Good idea. Meanwhile, everyone should give me their money."
Grace arched an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
Leila wordlessly pointed to the Currency desk.
After all that was set up, they found the inn and conked out.
