The Past

Anyone who has been fortunate enough to experience Sierra's games "Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers" and "Gabriel Knight 2 - The Beast Within" should immediately share the admiration I have for the delicately weaved world that played host to its title character.

The presence on the internet of similar minded fans of these titles can be seen in comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.adventure. At the merest mention of "What is the best adventure game?" by an innocent post, usually gets the multiple nomination of one title.

However, the internet has a disturbingly small number of dedicated sites for this game, so...

The Present

A web page created for your favourite game is not unusual these days. But for a page to be able to carry the feel, theme and spirit of the game it wishes to showcase, it needs to have that "first impression" that tells you so.

Hopefully, the front page did just that.

For a long time I had intended to create "something" based on Gabriel Knight that would be able to provide enough interest to the large amount of GK fans out/in here on the internet.

Well after a considerable R&D period, these were the initial results.

The Future

I have plenty of plans for the creative development of this site. Perhaps some are overly ambitious at present, but ideas that I believe will develop, over time.

Some of the things to look forward too include:

As you can see, there will be a hell of a lot to do to get the above all up and running. I am fairly competant on the graphical side of things (did you like the front page?), and should have know problems on the CGI/Javascript-ing side of things. The real problem will be providing (and sourcing) up-to-date information.

I usually frequent comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.adventure often enough to catch snippets of information as they are given, the same with the adventure and "St. George" forums on the Sierra homepage. But if anyone has any information that they don't see on this site, please let me know.

As a final note, this venture is purely a labour of love. No money is being made out of it, and is meant to be entirely for the viewing pleasure of other's. All copyrights are acknowledged as belonging to Sierra On-Line.

Well, thats the deal. Come back again soon to check out latest developments. If you wish, you can contact me at raymond.chitolie@tesco.net
